ChE week + other stuff

I was supposed to make this post's title: Mah Mad Volleyball Skillz but for the sake of World Peace, I did not. Anyway, to take away the weird thoughts you are having right now concerning the volleyball thing, I was MISTAKENLY awarded for being a part of the ChE Vball team. I have never been so embarassed in my life. Well not really. At least I wasn't the one who went up the stage as 'Carla Co' and received the medal for obtaining 1.0000 for two sems.(sorry Nat, joke lang.) But the real Carla Co came and received her award properly. Congrats Carla, and the others as well.

And so, the week actually began, for me with our spectacular 4th place in the Ham2. Well, 4th out of four teams. We blame the extremely difficult charades and lollipop-eating part. Plus our basketball players just kept running around. But they did a great job. The day ended with me convincing Buddy Rachell to have her Ham the next day.

And so, CONGRATS Buddy Rachell for completing the Ham part of your application. I am most proud of you. Well, we both sacrificed for your Ham and it paid off.

I had to juggle preparing the GO Adventure sandwiches and my buddy's Ham last Monday. Plus the emotional burden I carried. Blah. Anyway, thanks to the people who helped in GO Adventure:
-ChEReps: Alberto, Mark, Dale, Benjo, James, Bryan and Jericho
-ChESI: Trixie, Dianne, Carlo B, Carlo C, Mils, Dennis, Hannah
-Special mention: Mina for 'testing' the sandwiches
-Hosts Duane and BRYLEE TIU. Duane, sige na nga, DUANE GALANG.
-The participants.
-Faculty members who attended.
-People I failed to mention, or remember. Sorry, but thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Tuesday, was, as usual, LAB LAB LAB day. But we got to attend the STD. Congrats STD staff!

Wednesday was FUN, although it was boring sometimes. Some of the graduating KEMers and also, fourth years and third years went to Blaze a Trail, Take the Lead (or something like that). We had Francis Kong (super-cool), Senator Pangilinan, Bo Sanchez, Johnip Cua (prev P&G Phils President and GM), Mr. Mind Mapping Guy and Mr. P&G HR as speakers. Learned a lot. Did a lot of thinking. Got to wear a cool format outfit for a whole day. Got a lot of free shampoo. Had fun. Will have to give Mina a pair of bakya as graduation gift.

I was supposed to watch episodes 10-13 of Gossip Girl. But I have only finished the 10th and was halfway through the 11th when Ceres, Janine and Pat arrived at Yia and persuaded me (with free ticket and promise of obtaining a meal) to go to the Wednesday fair. Had a little fun (Watermelon Zagu is great!) but finally decided to go back to Yia after only 2 hours I think. When Janine and Ceres went back, we continued watching the GG episodes, but I fell asleep. So I haven't finished the 12th and 13th.

Got up early (thank God) on Thursday to prepare for plant visit. I was clutching my stress ball (not a euphemism) the whole trip to the plant. It went well, surprisingly, discounting the fact that 3 out of 4 classmates were grossed out and turned off due to blood everywhere and the disgusting fact that pigs should be killed just to have pork. And the shocking electric stunner so that the pigs won't suffer so much as they are stabbed in the chest by a sharp metal thing to kill them. But really, I now trust Monterey. Really clean meat.

The night was the first MDA this year. Well, underrated compared to the past two MDAs I had. Of course I was in the frontlines last year, and I was the target the year before that. It was informative all together. But I had another emotional wound, which, fortunately, was not too deep.

Friday is LABLABLAB day again, this time with a headache. Oooh! Challenging! Anyway, thanks to Jasser for the Lab gown. And we grew yeast this time. I also had a (fun) meeting with the i2k8 ExeCom. We did evaluations of our committees and members to prepare for the staff interviews for i2k9. Well, it was definitely full of insight. LOLZ.

And we return to the culminating night, super-fun + Vball award. Brylee and Mils did a great job in the videoke compet, judged by Sir Ernie and Carla's mama, Chairman Laguardia of the MTRCB. Did not eat free dinner because of Friday restrictions. But it was the least I can do. Had another emotional dip with someone acting like a complete child (in a bad way). I will not say sorry to you because I somehow, already did for the very minor thing I did.

-----
Happy birthday to Jet Lanting (Feb 10), Aldrin C (Feb 11), Joy Mendoza (Feb 14) and Auntie Yoly (Feb 17). And to all who wanted a birthday greeting. I'm sorry I can't keep track of a lot of things lately.

And I hope I rid myself of being too emotional. Just a bit. Because being emotional can be good. But not too much.
