sem break escapades

i had a stressful sem break, emotionally. i had to take care of my four sibs, which are NOT the nicest little angels ho just sit in front of the TV, mesmerized by the wonders of the cartoons of the new millenium. no. they run, jump, scream, cry, laugh, pound, crash, destroy and smack all at the same time. and when they get hungry, they devour the contents of the refrigerator and leave behind trails of crumbs and cheese spread, and their non-edible trash. or if they are feeling a bit lazy to burn their calories on some locomotor activities, they cut pieces of paper or play shouting at each other. they are a handful, and i may have cracked a couple of times and played evil older brother with a whip. but, at the end of it all, ie. when mama and kuya finally arrived from dumaguete with bags and boxes of goodies for all of us, we love each other.

so, the big day came. but we decided we should go to bocaue and north cemetery early. so we did it last sunday. then we went to loyola on nov.1, which was also lolo's birthday, and 41st day of death.

it's heart attack for me in bocaue as i ate a lot of fat-laden bituka and lechon kawali. but i pumped all the fat out of my blood as i used it to endure the week with my sibs. anyway, papa made me ride with auntie josie on the way back, which at first, as sad, because i didn't really like to but turned out to be fun. so, we went to north cemetery to pray for lola's mom, and lolo pepe, and another lola. then, papa and the others went home, while we went to the chinese cemetery because uncle manny had to visit their dead there. i was always wondering what the chinese cemetery would look like, as they were always going there every year, and we are not (because uncle manny is papa's brother in law, and therefore his relatives are technically not our relatives). so, this year was a good all saints day year for me because i had the opportunity to see the chinese cemetery (which is a tourist spot for the native chinese because according to auntie josie and uncle manny, cemeteries in china look way different). then, we went to dimasalang to buy flowers for nov. 1 at loyola. then we went home. (and i got off at alabang and commuted from there)

so, nov. 1. we spent the whole day at loyola (in sucat). it was fun because i almost memorized where our dead relatives are. it has been our problem every year to find their graves because of the lack of really helpful landmarks. but we had the "dumlao mausoleum" near lolo delio's and the tree near lola clara, lolo mesio, etc.'s. lolo ben's was beside ate elsie's and lola dora's, so the "party" was held there. as nov. 1 is also auntie vicky's birthday, she brought chicken drumsticks and a bilao of pancit. auntie josie brought adobo and chicken sandwiches and the drinks. auntie yoly brought some kakanin. and we brought ourselves. i was never hungry that day. but i guess, i had more UV than i was supposed to have, as lou commented just now. so, the hot day dragged on, with my younger brothers doing the running, kicking and screaming routine again, but now with demanding voices to the adults to give up their cellphones so they can play. it's like a mass hold-up where cute little kids hold-up their moms, dads, and relatives and take away their cellphone. it was the best thing to do, because the phones calmed them down as they were fixated on the car races. but not for long. after a while, they were fighting on who should play now. even my 12+ sisters joined in the squabble. so, you get how happily noisy the day was, with my lola constantly bearating us because we would step on lolo's grave. we practically made lola dora's and ate elsie's graves a picnic place. ate nadia and kuya vincent even slept there (although crosswise, they did not want to lie parallel to the dead). and so, i was tired at the end of the day.

i was editing some write-ups for the yearbook. they assigned ChE (yes, you poor souls) and ME to me. some write-ups were very well-written, others needed some polishing, and some needed no editing at all (whew). and so i give the ChE write-up award, the ChE prof the graduates are most likely to identiy themselves with: Prof. Dalida (and i quote: "matalino pero kikay").

and hurrah for me, i did not fail anything this sem, academically. although i had a few failures here and there. at least, i can study for free again next sem. :D but, crs is screwing up this week. they'll be back this 3 pm.

yay for dirty dancing 2, was a fun watch, at the middle of the night. and also grey's anatomy, which i now like better than desperate housewives. and yay to 28.8 kbps internet at home. at least i can hex. but not attach.

and 2 days before pain again.
