partial blindness
i suffered too much on the 7 days of my milenyo aftermath life.
Thursday: Milenyo attacks
i was stranded in yia after milenyo hit (half of the time i was sleeping) with cathy, gary, lou and ozie. we came out at 3 pm to have lunch, and was very amazed by the fallen trees and electrict posts and branches. anyway, we finished eating and bought supplies before we went back. we passed by yakal and saw the large tree, which was uprooted, blocking the road. when we arrived at yia, we found out that we have no candles for the night. so gary and cathy danced in the rain to the nearest store for the candles, and some playing cards. (i guessed the price of the winnie the pooh cards=19 pesos) after gary and cathy came back, we played tong-its until we were tired. slept for a while after that. woke up and played go fish. ate our choco cereals with chocolait and slept.
i failed to finish the sp i was making.
Friday: Waiting for the Stop Signal
i set my mind to studying for 122 exam, but thought of a possibility of it being postponed. so, i texted mam r, asking her if the exam the next day will push through. no reply for 3 hours (i slept while waiting). texted her again at 12nn. no reply again for the next 3 hrs. tried to call her but i guess her phone got turned off (no more battery, i guess). so, decided that i should expect exam to proceed and studied at jollibee philcoa with lovely and friend. i met mils, ria and dada at jollibee and studied with them. but they had to leave soon. so i was left by myself, while lovely is with 3 other friends in other table. i decided to buy some food from mercury drug, but when i returned, sombody else was on the table where my bag is, so i transfered to a spot where i later regretted sitting. went over to joker, ceilo and lor's table. chatted for a while and came home with lalaine and friend. *winkwink*
Saturday: Blind and Eyes Closed
woke up at 7:30 am, took a bath and prepared to go to eng'g for the exam. just before leaving, i received a text from mam r that the exam has been postponed. i was obviously angry. i should have went home on friday. and i did go home immediately after that. got home where there was still no electricity. arrived as auntie gras and lola and claire were leaving with kuya marc to go to auntie's rented condo (because apparently, she and her daughter cannot take the heat and discomfort the blackout caused). i was left at home with my kuya and the missing househelp of lola (which charged her celfone somewhere, returning home at 7 pm, then playing all her ringtones. what's the point?). had yucky food and slept early.
Sunday: Into the light
i love waking up early on these days because i want to savor the daylight. but not too early. papa woke me up at 5 am to get water. he got his own water and i just stared at the stars in the pollution-free sky (thanks milenyo). saw big dipper, little dipper and orion. got back to sleep. angelo wakes me up so we can get water. so we went to the neighbor who has a lever-type well pump and gets water. after 10 gallons, tires. i woke up kuya by psyching him that he can't take a bath because he did not get water. sleeps after that. wakes up again as kuya finishes. goes home to our true house to sleep more because it's cooler there. goes home and waits for the darkness. auntie yoly arrives and brings us (me, kuya, angelo and my two baby brothers) to las pinas where lola and 220 V of electricity exist. had some comfort by drinking cold water, feeling the wind of the electric fan. but goes home at 7 pm, into the darkness. sleeps at 9 am. but falls asleep at 11.
Monday: Schoolday
wakes up at 5 am to prepare for school. got all smoke-smelling clothes that ate gina washed for me over the waterless weekend (my infinite thanks). goes to up with papa until quezon ave mrt station. arrives at up at 9 am. charges celfone to 20% capacity and goes to school. but sir e is missing for 30 minutes, plus che lab is closed. so no class. es 10 proceeds, though. there is electricity in these halls, and at home, hurray! goes to yia hall to do 3 papers for geol 11. but let's see.
Tuesday: Long day
finishes one paper at 2 am. sleeps. wakes at 4:30 am to do another. finishes at 7:30. goes home to change clothes after taking a bath, of course. catches a bit of weird asian power rangers before going to school. had 197 class, but can't go with class to shell tabangao. so sad. attends 133. exam pushes through, wednesday. 122-some power plant problem. goes home. sleeps for an hour. washes up and goes to jollibee philcoa to study with janine and ceres. transferred tables a lot. chats more than reads but finishes 133 coverage at 6 am. sleeps when feels extremely tired. goes home at 6 am.
Wednesday: Doom
Wakes at 10 am. eats brunch. takes a bath. watched a bit of homeboy where they featured gay diva impersonators (who sound like the real thing). went to school. went with pat to the admin. studied more on de/humidification. had 133 test. cries. goes home to prepare for yia overnight. goes to yia, plays hex for 3 hours. when ready to do paper, cathy needs to use computer for major reports. so, gives way. sleeps at 1 am.
